Each week, you'll select a new hitter and you'll accumulate their hitting statistics each week, in an effort to create an All Star or even a Hall of Fame hitter! In 2011, Fantasy Baseball Big Game will offer two Big Game Roto Leagues. You'll compete against 19 other team owners in a standard 5 x 5 roto league. You'll definitely need to have a deep knowledge of players in order to be competitive in this league! Find out exactly what major league GM's go through as they have to fill out a complete roster of All Stars, veterans, role players, rookies and more. Do you know which reserves are more likely to break through? Who is more likely to get 350 at bats and who is more likely to only compile 150 at bats? Which set up guy is most likely to grab a few saves? If you understand all of this, than this is the league for you!
Each week, you will go head to head against another team in your league for 17 weeks. After playing each team in your league once, the regular season will be over and the playoffs will begin with the top five teams with the best records advancing to the play-offs. Week 18 will be the wild card round, where the #4 and #5 seeds will face off. In weeks 19, 20 and 21, the divisional playoffs rounds will take place as the #1 seed will face off against the wild card winner and the #2 seed will face off against the #3 seed in a best of three series. Weeks 22, 23, 24, 25, 26 will see the winners of the divisional playoffs face off in a best of 5 championship series. (The losers of the divisional playoffs will face off in a consolation series.
Do you think you can identify the top 20 HR hitters in 2011? It seems simple enough...Pujols, Howard, ARod, Dunn, Fielder...Hill, Ethier? You'll be able to pick up to 10 of last year's top 20 HR hitters and then you'll have to round out the remainder of your roster with 10 players who did not finish in the top 20 of MLB in 2010. 
You've played them during the football, now try our baseball version of the survival contest! Each week, you'll select a new team. The team you select must win at least 50% of the games they play that week. If they do, you'll move on, if they don't, no need to worry...this is baseball, you need three strikes before you are out! Each week you pick a team who wins less than 50% of their games, you;ll get one strike. Once you have 3 strikes, you are eliminated. The last survivor wins. If there is more than one survivor at the end of the season, the owner with the most wins will be the survival champion! Every year manager's are fired because they can't get the job done. Will you be able to? 1st place - $500, 2nd Place - $100 (Entry fee is $25 or $40 for both leagues!)
